Davender Babbar brings 25 years of experience as a business and technology leader in financial services. As a visionary leader working at the intersection of business, product, user experience, data, and technology, Davender inspires innovation while driving business transformation.
Davender has held leadership roles in large financial services firms as well as Fintech startups, delivering large-scale platforms to address real-world business needs. He is keenly interested in data-driven decision-making, faster payments, fraud detection, and digital transformation. He is recognized for his creative yet pragmatic solutions, disciplined execution, and creative problem-solving abilities.
From 2002 to 2024, Davender held various leadership roles at JPMorgan and led several transformation initiatives in Risk Management, Prime Finance, and Securities Services. As a Product executive, he launched several products including Arranged Financing, Prime Margining, and an exceptional off-balance-sheet liquidity solution including Money Market Fund trading. He formulated a comprehensive data strategy for cash, liquidity, and FX products.
Davender led the application development of an early internet payments start-up, Lab Morgan’s redEcash, which was the forerunner to Chase QuickPay and the Clearing House’s new Real-Time Payments. He talks about real-time payments & new payment rails, liquidity & cash management solutions, data quality, and data analytics. He is passionate about continuous learning and deeply committed to the role of perpetual student.
Davender graduated in 1984 from IIT BHU, Varanasi with a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering, then went on to get Ph.D. in Computer Science from Ohio State University. For his doctoral research, he focused on scheduling of real-time tasks in multi-processing architecture.
